Yes, your vertical and horizontal drawing movements are being recorded more or less identically depending on the active surface area of the tablet (which has barely changed in 15 years), leaving the primary differences being (imho largely superficial) things like wireless and touch features or hotkey arrangements (or the thing I'm most critical of, the increasingly brittle "surface texture"). Having now used a wide variety of these devices myself, I'm unconvinced pressure sensitivity levels are contributing a perceptible difference either.

There's no such thing as "too big"-but you should be mindful of what your work area can accommodate. Holistically speaking though, the closer the size of the tablet to your monitor's screen, the better. The Giano and Intuos Large are both as close to the same drawing feel as a traditional medium or a Cintiq as it getswithout using either. In some ways though, they're even better.

I would get either a Huion Giano or a Wacom Intuos 4-or-higher in the largest size available, I'd also get a second 20 inch monitor to put reference images and videos on, pretty much just like I have now.

Cintiq tablets look real sexy in the pictures, but it's all hype. While you can't buy a small ass tablet and use it on your big ass monitor and expect not to have a bad time, there's also a point where you're essentially trying to buy into being a good artist. It's at that point when the name "Cintiq" is most likely to be bandied about. I've been there myself and it just isn't going to happen. Don't make the same mistake I did, fampaisanos.

Truth be told you'll still be drawing with your wrist a lot, but the possibility will be there to for making long lines and big shapes with your arm/shoulder.

After passing on the first Giano I bought to a trad artist friend I decided to buy another one. It's the best tablet out there besides the Intuos Pro Large, and is actually better than it in some ways (more compact overall size, bigger active area etc.). A lot of the flaws are mostly superficial.

The pen has to be charged once in a great while (people sometimes forget this and think the pen's broke lmoa)

Pen has no "tilt"

Can't press buttons on pen and draw at the same time.

The hotkeys are made of some shiny shit that looks absolutely disgusting when pressed due to the fingerprints showing like hell

Has to be turned "on" to charge its internal battery for wireless (wtf)

Pretty much it as far as its cons goes.

With that said, yes of course you draw on the screen. If you weren't planning on doing that you shouldn't have gotten it to begin with (also, you shouldn't have gotten it to begin with).

The only Cintiqs that are even remotely worth it are the massive ones, simply because they're bigger than any monitor a regular tablet could function properly on.

That's a logical fallacy, fambino. New things are being discovered about ergonomics and health all the time. A lot of traditional drawing techniques like sight-size and oil painting may not have ideal posture, but they do involve constant breaks on account of the inherent peculiarities of either the technique used or the medium itself.

With digital the fact you're not backing away to size up your subject, or relaxing your arms to reapply pigment to your brush or sharpen your charcoal/pencil means people are likely only taking breaks when strain has already begun to set in and this exacerbates this already less than ideal posture where you're forced into either staring down at your drawing surface or bringing your elbows up tits-high and holding them there until you just can't anymore.
