I want to be a mangaka, but without the downsides of having to go to Japan or speak Japanese or work on a restricted week to week deadline. I'm secretly hoping that I can be like ONE and have my amateur work be noticed by a superior Japanese mangaka who appreciates my art and story and wants to help blow up its popularity without me doing any of the hard work of forming connections and speaking with Japanese people, which will eventually lead to it getting a high quality anime adaptation by a respectable studio like ufotable (who would be my ideal pick for the type of story I'm making), all while I work under comfortable conditions at my leisure without time sensitive deadlines, and without having to conform to the hand of editors who change my story to appeal to a broader audience and keep my story stake-free to prevent the risk of low ratings. Of course, this will never happen and I'm better off doing something else with my limited time on this Earth, but it's my personal fantasy and I think about it often.

I use my ipad and procreate for professional work every day. I vastly prefer it over my wacom workflow, it just feels more intuitive

anon, for your own sake and sanity stop caring and torturing yourself over what people think. the fact that they gave you money for your work is awesome. keep up the good work and keep grinding.

Anybody else waste their time browsing for art and saving pictures as "references" instead of actually drawing
