What on earth makes you think that? Loomis gets recommended left and right by successful artists. Especially in the comic book industry. Alex Ross is such a big advocate of Loomis that he even wrote an introduction foreword in one of the Loomis book re-prints.

If anything, it's the exact opposite. The only people I have ever seen who have a truly negative opinion of Loomis are /beg/ tier shitters from /ic/. Some professional might not have studied Loomis but rather one of the other interchangable books like Bridgeman or Hogarth, but will still admit that the Loomis books are a valuable resource to learn from.
