I half agree and disagree with that statement. While it is good to draw from references and real life, I think what anon really needs to learn is fundamentals. Anon looks like he needs to practice drawing simple 3d shapes a bit more before he can start to break down the human form. Sure, if you can break down the human body into simple shapes that's good, but if you can't even draw those simple shapes in perspective correctly very consistently, then it won't help you anyway.
