Krita is good enough for probably anything you'll need it for. It does everything. Pic related was made with Krita.

That being said, it's a major headache to use and unless you're on Linux, it performs like ass. The UI is obtuse, and it's bloated with tons of niche features that you'll probably never use.

But it's fine if you're desperate and don't have Photoshop or CSP.
