This pic is how you properly "copy" by referencing a part of a picture and applying it to your own art. This is what /asg/ is supposed to be all about but its filled with copymaxxists trying to achieve 1:1 copy ratio as if weeb shit were bargue plates. A better example is eo58 on youtube who makes good use of reference.

You probably just suck at making things work for you. For example, if you just want to learn to color, there is no need to copy the lineart before coloring. Think of a children's coloring book where the lines are already made for you. This pic is from an assignment in the Krenz color course.

So I found this in a Krenz course and it was kinda funny but actually very high level IQ. Would focusing on just one aspect of a picture really give out that much information?
