I wish I could follow these rules but my process is usually like this:

>Have a vague idea of what I want to paint or none at all
>Scribble with brushes
>Find some shapes I like, go on from there
>When it's all rendered and looking good, I realize the composition is nonexistant
>Tell myself I'll never make this mistake again
>Repeat it every damn time
