Pii and Kanji were banned before I recorded IP sessions. So, technically, I can't enforce a ban, but frankly both were relatively harmless and I only acted upon it when people got tired enough of it.
Pii even made some hilarious comic and piss going into Adine's mouth, which is, well, how did he know I was into watersports. Wowee.

I'm too busy doing dev to get black out drunk today.
I'll get black out drunk after I finish the patch, after engorging myself with all-you-can eat steak at a certain restaurant I like.

On this topic:
I think the last time we opened this discussion, we deemed it being somewhat unfair to some of the high streak individuals who lost their streak for tokens to be implemented now. As a compromise, I was to implement an "ascension system" that grants you 1 ascension every 365 days, allowing you to break your streak then and go for another ascension later, or continue your streak from 0 (your real streak will still be tracked).

Alternatively, or even additionally, we can consider the implementation of tokens when the last flawless streak is broken (I have no idea when in hell that would be). Another possibility that I have mulled over in my head is a "vacation" item purchasable with DADCoin.

Essentially, you get to take time off DAD at the cost of some large percentage of your streak, like:
> Take a day off, 20-30% streak reduction.
> Take 3 days off, 25-40% streak reduction.
> Take a week off, 35-50% streak reduction.
Or something like that. Just spitballing ideas.

Alternatively, we could just keep in mind that since we already have both DAD and the Seasonal Challenges, that streaks are no longer as important as they once were (all site features are unlocked at level 5 if i recall correctly), and that DAD's modus operandi has differed from the previous instances in that the focus is shifted onto building habitual participation (seasonal challenges) rather than obsessive daily grinding.

Of course, I welcome discussion or suggestions on this topic.

So, seeing as though the poll results aren't going to change too dramatically from this point forward, it's time for the FINAL STAGE!

also for some fucking reason 4chan keeps thinking this goddamn post is spam what the shit, sorry for this weird roundabout way of sending you the survey link

Oh man, I have been looking forward to this idea for a really long time.

Tonight's Prix Fixe:
> Anchoring a submission link to a comment will highlight it.
> You can now 'reply' to posts. Paying tribute to the site's origination from /ic/, clicking the "No. 123" text in the comment head box will automatically populate the reply box with ">>123", which will be rendered as a link to a comment. Clicking it will highlight and move the browser down to the linked/anchored comment.
> But that's not all! If the comment exists on an entirely different submission, it will be rendered as a direct link with anchor, and will highlight that comment when the page is rendered!

Confused? Please check out these examples:
https://dad.gallery/submissions/38244
https://dad.gallery/submissions/38399

These will be improved upon further to permit metalinking of other site things, as well as improving notifications to permit more nuanced reactions to the replies (currently, a reply will not trigger a notification to the replied if its not in the same thread).
I'm proud of this one, though the implementation might be a bit clumsy, so if you notice any bugs or issues, let me know! Thank you, and good night!

> back up

A small patch has been pushed to the site.
> Removed turbolinks. Go fuck yourself, turbolinks. Partial loading of pages has now been replaced with a more traditional loading scheme.
> This also fixed navigation javascript functionality carrying over to other pages.
> Fixed <br> tags in the DAD contest description.
> Fixed the mobile collapse button not showing up clearly. Mobile still sucks, but now it sucks a little less.

I'll get more stuff out throughout the week.

To make this process easier, site-wise, without having to resort to external means of communication, what would be the best means of doing so, beyond a low-priority feature of submitting on behalf of multiple people (the other participant(s) must confirm for the submission to be accepted).

Adding infrastructure to challenges to encourage collaboration? Some sort of VERY MINOR form of bulletin board requesting projects, or maybe interest groups? A daily-like structure similar to the old topic challenges?

A reminder! I'm feeling a bit generous, so if you forgot to join the New Year's Challenge, I'll handle your late entries.

This challenge is a bit different structure-wise, so if you message me on Discord, I'll put you in, so long as you do it before 1/7.
