To understand how muscles work I recommend you to study foldings and wrinkles ( >>/ic/thread/S3349311#p3351538 ) plus memorizing the measurements ( Like pic related. Just google head measurements for artists or something, print em and pin them next to your desk for reference. After some time it will become second nature to remember them and you won't even need to look at them ) and some of the bones and muscles ( I would recommend just to memorize the ones that people forget the most like the zygomatic bone. The ammount of people that draw characters without the exterior side of the eyesockets is incredible, like their ears and eyes wanna fuse togheter )
