So I'm like two hours into this zebra on my sixth day of learning to draw and I'm not really sure if I'm practicing right.
The first thing the sticky recommends that you do is learn to copy, so I was trying to approximate the proportions of the zebra in my head, mark them onto the page, and basically play connect-the-dots. (I eventually got kinda lazy and started eyeballing the stripes.) I'm not even trying to construct it or anything.
So, is this even worthwhile practice or should I jump directly to loomis and drawabox, or something else? Is it even worth finishing the zebra?
