Pretty good attempt, though still in a really early stage.
I think what's wrong with the eyes is that they're too big and bugly, they should be a bit smaller and sitting further in the eye-sockets.
Ear is too small and eyebrows are too rounded, though I guess that depends on if you want to take it down a more stylized route.
Also It's hard to tell but I get the impression you're afraid of putting down line/ comitting.

I don't think the bend of the spine is that bad, the torsos just seem a little streched.
The distance between the figures is too much and trying to work with that leaves the interaction awkward.
