How do I get out of this mentality?

> spent the past few hours painting
> as per usual it didn't turn out well
> all i did was waste more paint and materials
> clean my brushes and put them away
> decide to look at my old work from years ago
> tfw it was much better back then
> back when i painted for fun
> back when i wasn't trying to /make it/
> back when my work was full of life and creativity
> now all i make is failed attempts at realism
> hundreds of hours wasted trying to git gud

I give up lads. It's fucking over for me. I've turned myself from someone who painted for fun into a broken camera, this is where I stop. If you're a beginner in art, don't bother, it's not worth it.
