yeah building the box would be a hassle. could try and just make it so I can slide any thing in either slot for the same effect.

like if I made a big computer-looking box with big ol fucking slots that accommodate 11x14 or 8x10 canvas panels, I could rig the light and glass and work on getting a proof of concept with particle board and paint/blackfelt or something, then figure out how to do like a track mechanism to slide them in/out like a cd player. Then I could see about making it so that the light turns on when the slide is fully closed only.

shit that could be a good goof is that looking at them in a weird painting vcr is how the paintings are SUPPOSED to be viewed or some uppity bullshit. Seems like it'd be a cool prop for a bunch of porpoises. idk if it'll happen before 2019 desu

yeah I'll have to actually figure out numbers and stuff and then maybe like build the outbox and then be able to dial in where the 2 should slide in on each side before I cut the slot holes. the wikipedia diagrams looked like they were the same distance on both sides and that'd make sense probably. there's probably schematics around

gotta change what's important in your braingrapes. Think about artistic production like you're working on a movie or something with deadlines and bigger issues than if it looks "perfect" or whatever. If you change your focus to "good enough" production and accept that mistakes happen, you generally find that you still end up making satisfying shit.
