Look at the moon, it's a ball surrounded by fucking nothing so you can't see the shaded area at all.

If you look at any astronaut photo you can see the shadows are fulled with vibrant blue reflected from the Earth while his base tone is pure unsaturated white, but all shadows are vibrant blue.
