sorry to hear that anon. If it's worth anything of note, life drawing I started off students with a handout showing Michelangelo's David in simple shapes and how they related to each other. It's meant to install the whole, "drawing like a painter" mentality.

Pic related, sorry for the bad phone res. My scanner ends up cutting off the 5 step.

Other things consisted of studying sculptures of old masters, copying and making certain notes on skeleton and muscle charts from "Albinus on Anatomy", doing master studies as well starting to understand how foreshadowing/ perspective works, and then working from a nude model.

Another anon posted their ref. library a while back and it has some nude models to work from: https://www.pinterest.com/sepiasquid/?autologin=true

In life drawing II, we started the class off with making 3-4 quick gesture drawings with india ink and a stick (it makes for interesting line variations). This is sort of where Vilppu's, drawing the head first, then letting the body follow it, comes into play, as well as starting to feel the form of the body. There was work that includes using a 3 color system (charcoal, chalk, and pastel color rust) that helps in understanding mid tones and highlights and applying that to large scale drawings.

So far, those are the major things I remember when I took the classes. I think in the end, it's just a matter of applying a bit more discipline to yourself, since there's no instructor to both point out any mistakes, as well as encourage you to push your drawings a bit further.

Hope that was helpful, anon, and just keep at it!
