Whenever I come across a problem in my life which causes me mental anguish I write down what's bothering me then try to give myself advice as if it was someone else's problem. This is a similar situation I felt, I'm 22 but over the course of the past two years I started falling off the path of progress because of the pressure to git gud. This is my answer to myself, it works for most if any problems and makes me feel better about the situation as a whole because it makes me think about it in a less emotional form.

We call them goals because they are hard to achieve, I believe you fell off the path because you began entering the mind frame of work rather than play. You put so much pressure on yourself to be the best you wanted to collect as much information as you could without taking said information in, but this doesn't mean your goals aren't achievable. You can unlearn and relearn anything and your art is not an exception, learning should be fun so make it fun. Instead of wanting to be the best of the class try to be the person who has the most fun in the class, do something to impress and excite yourself rather than others.
