/ic/ - Artwork/Critique

So I decided to draw not too long ago, and I'm still shit at it. I was doing a random anime sketch a moment ago, and actually managed to do better on it than my previous excraments, which should tell you something. But I've hit a rut, I cannot fucking draw this hand to save my life. I wanted to do a thumbs up, but when I draw the hand, it comes out looking odd, like it's just a growth spurting out of the arm, and when I shorten to arm to make it more wrist-list, it looks absolutely silly. How do you do hands?
