Hey.
Make that flash game. Make that flash animation.
It doesn't matter how bad it is. You'll get better if you just keep doing it and draw on the side. Don't give up just because you got stuck. Don't throw in the towel because you can't draw. Don't let those incidents weigh down your heart forever.
You are living in a special time, an era of self-expression and reckless creativity. You know, deep within your heart that you want to be a part of it, even if you won't be known for any of it.
Please don't take it for granted.

Something's gone awry with the site. Trying to investigate.

the fucking thing kicks and screams about "wah i don't have enough memory to install this library or this dependency," or "what do you mean install a new gem version thats too big it won't fit in my disk space, banana"

I need to get going to a NYE party.
Attached is a brief retrospective on my role as a webpaster.

I intend to do better next year. I need to do better next year.
Regardless of my own personal issues, I hope you all have a happy new year.

> do more finished pieces

I hear this a lot but also the contrary as well.
Things like "you won't learn unless you complete a lot of pieces", or "you're a /beg/, learn your fundamentals before trying to make something".
Then comes the question of: what if I don't have proper familiarity of the medium yet, which leads me to "maybe I should go through at least the basics of CTRL+Paint" and then take an approach like this. The same goes for concepts like construction / lighting / value, which I have nearly 0 knowledge of and people constantly recommend honing those skills on an individual basis when possible (dynamic sketching / DAB for construction, not sure about values/lighting).
I guess what I'm getting at is that I think this is very good advice; I just have an insane amount of anxiety from all the time I've wasted already and I'm just playing devil's advocate. The old adage of "just draw" has merit, but there's so many ways I can plateau awfully and I'm fucking terrified.
The prevailing advice (which you have also expressed), which I am leaning towards following, seems to focus on "draw what you like to draw and pick up these concepts gradually as you do them", but part of my skepticism dives into thoughts like "how can I really be sure I really understand the concepts I'm exploring or am even learning from it"?

Sorry! I forgot to add the next seasonal challenge, and the website got really mad at me.

Everything's good now. Congratulations to the consistent daily posters for Summer... we had a lot of them!

This month and a half will be, and has already been hard for me. I will not elaborate much beyond that.

In the extremely rare event that I do decide to take my own life, I promise to let you guys know and I'll do my best to make sure things will be in proper hands before it happens.
