I would never recommend to anyone to be an artist. In fact I would discourage people to choose art as a career path for obvious reasons.

There exist some rare outliers but in the vast majority of cases "talent" boils down to how much you study/work on a thing paired with how you study/work on that thing
Get to it, and if there are no results, take a step back and change your approach. Having a tutor or a small community (atelier) to share your progress helps tremendously in that last aspect.
