I see, something like pic rel?
i tried doing that last time (it wasn't a study) and it came out looking like garbage, i couldn't stick to just 5 values and I'm not sure if one should be doing that with a watercolor brush in the first place! still, thanks for the advice.
and is the grayscale supposed to just work as a guide for yourself or is there an easy way to turn the grayscale into color?
