What's the point of art as a whole besides depictions? Doing art goes against nature because it has no value by itself, yet it is being made for people to enjoy themselves thus resulting in any artwork to be for masturbatory reasons, whether it's physical or intellectual.

Recently I get more and more e-mails of people who want to commission more serious stuff like book covers, concept art or character sheets. Stuff that goes beyond just personal-use. Nothing big.
I'm used to the old "draw my OC" for 50-100 bucks kind of commission.
I don't know how to price my work in this situation or whether I should ask for more. Any help is appreciated.
