it literally will. anyway the secret is fine tuning the brush or just finding the right one. opacity, flow, texture, smooth softness instead of hard edge or finding the setting in the brush where you select to keep same value in same stroke. In krita hit F5 > color >painting mode > wash

yeah but you end up holding the pen and moving it without wrist the same way so it should be safe. in either case if your hand starts to hurt dont ignore the pain and use better grip

is this self-portrait project from KtD? You need to reread that chapter. Particularly the part where book tells you the few hard facts about face proportions like distance between eyes and how they are in middle of the skull, not 3/4
