I generally let my sky get quite dry before I move on to mid ground and foreground painting. So I’d need an errant brushstroke or spill to move the pigment in my background any substantial amount. I do make plenty of these minor errors like tiny splatters but in the end they look fine to me. But I need to remind myself that however the sky turns out with watercolor it will look a million times worse with any attempt at correction so I just go with it.
