>That's because you're doing both you fucking piece of shit
You seem upset. If you'll notice the OP it says "Discussion must be limited to subjects related to /ic/ - Artwork/Critique." You're not really doing that huh?

>I'd say you're actually probably a better painter than me
hmm
>but your aversion to doing anything except the easiest things (grids, photos, celebrities) seems like a cop out.
I'm definitely planning on doing more adaptations and spoofs on old memes.
>it makes me annoyed that you outright refuse to put your abilities into actual fine arts work (original still life's, landscapes, nudes, portraits)
im thinking of doing a still life of all the liquor bottles in the recycle bin. Definitely finna do a bunch of scapes soon.
>My biggest problem with your approach, which is your intention, is that with this way of painting you can't make mistakes. It's built into the format you are working within.
yeah pretty much. Drawing actual people and not drawing from a computer or image aught to start happening next year more.

so you're capable of doing what hundreds of thousands of asian laborers do for dollars a day. Why would you expect that anyone would be impressed with your ability to make generic Halo ripoff art on your tablet?

Like this is such a niche thing, and you're kind of just generic at it. Why the fuck would you expect a ton of attention? Who would even care to pay attention to your knock-off vidya designs?

keep following your impulses I guess, but maybe quit whining about why you're not getting famous for computer drawings of generic videogame environments. You feeling sorry for yourself and refusing to think critically about what you do is the reason you're not going to make it.

inb4 you don't read. I don't expect you to. I expect you to spend the next 10 years being lazy and copying boring bullshit on your tablet and blaming everything and everyone else for why nobody cares about your 16-year-old trash.

my strategy has always been to set out to make a mistake. Normally I'll be mulling over something I read or talked about, and see if I can intentionally make the mistake and then see if it can potentially be interesting.

And "change yourself?" You almost certainly ARE making "bad art" as it is. The difference is you're likely just choosing to do work as opposed to doing nothing and telling yourself it'd be really good if you bothered.
>Be process focused not result focused
yeah exactly. The goal is to do work. Change your focus so that doing ANYTHING is your standard for success. Just draw and so on.
>But how can that be believable for me when clearly nobody actually thinks this?
People that are productive think like this. People that are lazy tell themselves they're "perfectionists."
>Nobody appreciates me for who I am
Why should they? You know how many people there are?
> they will only do so if I have something to offer to them that they like: my own work
eh if I've learned anything from a lot of the virgins on /ic/ a lot of them will just hate you for doing more than them.

The reality is that almost everyone will NEVER "appreciate you for who you are" no matter what you do. No point giving a shit about it.
