Everything that comes out of the west looks like the mediocre real people a western character looks like a random fuck you could see if you went outside.
Probably not to offend the normal mediocre unattractive people.

Japan doesn't give a fuck and just draws their idea if perfect.
They understand that for anything real the camera is good enough, an artist is to show an image of something better than real.

See this Nero, he's basically young Dolph Lundgren who got even whiter and handsomer, their character is a white guy so they made him a perfect white guy.

Compare him to the western Dante from DmC and you will feel the difference.
