Maybe... you keep getting the same response... because you're still wrong?

idk about methods but I've thought about why good artists will often say similar stuff
I think it's a mixture of not being good at explaining what you did, being too lazy to explain your whole fucking career to someone, or deliberately not revealing your routines to cull the competition
Like that Marco Bucci video IIRC the one on the importance of greys and color harmony, where he shows the work of two amazing painters and their answer to an interviewer asking how they do such amazing painting is "bro whatever the colors just happen you know lol" or some bullshit quote like that. But maybe I'm just butthurt

Bit of clueless dumbass question but uh
Is copying a different skill from "normal" drawing?
I can't copy a face realistically nailing down the proportions 100% at all, but I have been drawing on and off for years and I'm not /beg/ tier anymore (not good or intermediate either but just saying), however I know of a girl that can copy and do a value study of a face very realistically, but she doesn't really study to git gud and I don't think she even draws aside from doing little paintings like that. If I had to guess, if she tried to make something like some stylized work, it would be beginner tier
She does art school IIRC so I think that's where she learned, a friend of mine also did art school and even though he also is not into drawing the way I am I saw one of his works now and then and he also did such things
So, yeah I'm just a bit confused what happened, do they teach you observation in art school and tell you to copy shit 1:1? Or what? I'm interested in that now that I've gotten more serious about drawing, hoping that recreating stuff like that from observation is going to improve my work from imagination

Lots of new people and no structure rigid enough to guide them nor mods to enforce the few existing rules. People used to lurk moar, but then the population on 4chan was 1/10th of today - and they were probably not as Normies, though I cannot prove it.

Solution is easy, /i/ and /ic/ need to become a unique board, this way the shitposting becomes normal, problem solved. Kinda like /pol/ and /mlp/ but permanent.

Right now I am only drawing with pencil, later I plan to move to digital when I feel ready. Considering this, am I retarded for only working in lineart and not learning tone? As in, will this set me back once I move to digital and try to color/paint on my lineart?
