Never read the book, but the vast majority of the people who become artists aren't willing to start being honest with themselves, their drive is more about the escapist aspect of creating. You need motivation to even desire to improve, because acknowledging your weaknesses is a hard thing to do and training them is even harder. This starts with hunger and discipline, which can and should be taught to children. That's why it's critical to expose people at a young age to witness mastery in various professions and told of the discipline it takes to get there.

LOL JUST TAKE YOUR OWN REFERENCES. Go outside degenerates. Go on a day trip, snap photos of cool shit. The world exits off your screen. You're never going to get that sweet boomer money by jerking off to some e-celeb's digital art masturbation. Would you rather rip off pixar and didney for fanfiction characters and deviant art OC's. Would you sit in darkness wishing you were born with slanty eyes, hoping to glean some genius from your favorite chinese cartoonist's perverse fanservice. Or maybe you'd like to make some real art and get paid some real money.

MFW you will never learn to paint intuitively. Turn off your targeting computer, use the force. Confidence is an aspect of improving.

Regular Uni. It's funny considering the amount of alumni that I come into contact with. Everyone seems to recognize me as mahniggah.jpg. Turns out that i'm connected pretty well with job opportunities in art ed and business. It's too bad that i'm not interested in art ed, but I'm fine with being a maintenance guy that paints when he gets home.

when you get comfortable with what you have for opportunities and have a place where you can comfortably improve, it's like there's nothing to really hold you back. I fix shit and mow lawns all day, go home and paint pretty pictures by night.

I think ill make it.
