I want to (eventually) sell my art as NFTs in one or more marketplace, in a blockchain.

Such art can be purchased by people for artistic and/or financial appreciation.
It will also be physical and digital at the same time

Is this wrong in your view for any reason? If yes, why?
(Remember to make better arguments than your average basedtuber, thank you)

>Assume the environment impact is negligible. Less than 4chan's impact, for example

>Is this wrong in your view for any reason? If yes, why?
Not wrong, artists should do whatever they need to get that bag.
The problem with NFT is that the market is fucking dead. And the examples of successful NFTs have more to do with the nexus of crypto (cult)ure, fashion, memes, and branding than the art itself. It reminds me of the fine art world where influencers push the nebulous next big thing.
Examples of successful NFTs include Pudgy Penguins, that monkey shit, and Miladys (before the co-founder was associated with a suicide cult and the price plummeted). If you look at the art itself ... well that's all subjective.
tldr market's dead, a lot of it is mired in bullshit, but hey put some up and see what happens.

no, not at all.
the previous nft buzz was all built on hype and speculation. even during that time i have seen artists who i followed before nfts existed sell their art as nfts and continue to do so.
it is just a mechanism for sale and transfer of ownership and authentication.
as a plus you might get secondary sale income.
you can find artists who do it and the market accepts it. but you will find many voices online who are against it but who cares?

Completely disingenuous. There are in fact already rules in place that prevent kids from getting hit by trucks in public spaces. Before there were rules, there were badly organized roads, no warning signs, little public awareness, and cars did routinely run over civilians. Now, with engineering and planning, most of those accidents have been averted. The parent barely even needs to tell their kid how to avoid cars now, they just fucking tell them "stay on the sidewalk."

This is the same thing with the public internet space. We're still laying the groundwork to make it functional and healthy. We're building sidewalks. Sorry, cowboy. Your era is coming to an end (and good riddance to the lot of you.)

The future internet will be one where children do not have access to your shitty drawings. Boo hoo. Cry more.

7143230 No.7143230 [Reply] [Original]

Abstract art is art insofar as cultural institutions say that it's art.

To create art is to create harmony. It is to demonstrate a relationship between the disparate elements of a thing by which those elements all accord with one another. This harmony is beauty.
The way abstract art works is that the artists take a quite random jumble of things, and assert that they are in fact harmonious in some way. This is different than traditional art, which tries to make things actually visually harmonious; it's not creating harmony, it's ASSERTING harmony.
Abstract art is inferior because it relies on the viewer knowing and caring about the assertion the artist makes regarding the beauty in the piece. Generally, abstract art has accomplished this by leveraging institutions (museums, galleries, magazines, etc) to give their assertion of beauty more impact. That's why abstraction didn't really take off until the CIA astroturfed it into existence, by the way. At any rate, once these institutions lose their cultural force, so to do the claims of the artists. If someone who had never heard of abstraction found a Pollock in the trash, he'd think it was some sort of test canvas. It's art that can only exist within a limited cultural context.
This is distinct from art which is too intellectual for the average person to comprehend. Monet wanted to capture the particular character of light, and pursued that goal (showcasing the harmony of light without strict form) intelligently. An intelligent observer can decode Monet's work without knowing anything about Monet, and perceive that value.
Pollocks work, on the other hand, cannot be decoded. Even if it does, as he alleged, create beauty by displaying his subconscious urges, those urges can't be detected by someone viewing the art. If he wrote a description of what he felt he had imparted in a particular painting, the reader would be as informed by the description alone as by the description combined with the painting.

Trying to find a specific artist
from either Pixiv or Twitter that I can't find. I do remember some stuff about their art.

It's in black and white.

It features cute monsters evolving into more horrific forms.

The art has a RPG sort of aesthetic to it with levels and such.

The monsters started as blob-like things before evolving into something horrific

The transformations usually involve some kind of item.

They always stop at level 99, except for one of the pics.

One image did feature a monster lord and a hero.

Pic is a poor recreation of how
some of their art usually starts out

You might be better than you think. Or just being followed by artists who mass-follow in order to gain followers. Some of these people like to cut how many they’re following suddenly, knowing most won’t notice and still follow them. Now they have leet follower to following ratio and can sell their shit for shekels.

Some follow a few new ones and routinely unfollows others, cycling through the sea of other artists trying to get them to follow and and engage with the plan to unfollow them shortly.

However, if those good artists aren’t the type to follow thousands or attempt to trick others into following them, then they probably genuinely like some aspect of your work. Also like >>7143129 said, it’s often the ‘best’ artists whose artwork has become sterile and predictable and uninspired whereas a lot of random amateur beginner and intermediate artists still have a lot of ‘soul’ in their work, have something somewhat original to say through their art. So good and great artists are wise to have their artistic perspective challenged and be inspired by ‘bad’ art.

>anti
It's the new "hater"
It is mostly used to describe anyone who expresses anything negative towards consumer products and media.
But it is mostly used as an insult/buzzword towards anyone who dares criticize anything without engaging the speaker directly and divert/deflect any criticism

Example:
Factual statement
>Doing drugs is bad for you
Answer:
>OMG UR SUCH A ANTI YOU JUST WANT PEOPLE TO NOT DO DRUGS? FUCKING PURITAN
Or another example
>this ecelebrity is using his influence to get kids to drink bleach, this person should be arrested
response
>OMG UR SUCH AN HATER
And there you go. The discussion has been poisoned, the speaker deflected and branded as irrational and the threat of the truth disposed of.
Ultimately, it's a censorship tactic to demoralize any future truth speaker and for others to not engage in the message the one branded as an "anti" delivered.

Usually, when you hear/read anyone say "anti" against any and all criticism, nigga they're guilty as fuck.

This is for OP, i also used to do graffiti (15 years ago) and have not done graffiti or art for that long. Graffiti was cool for me because i liked colors and scribbling. its been so long i lost my way and im trying to go back to art in general (studying on my own). here's some scribbles i did last week after 15+ years of doing nothing (growing up and working at an insurance office as an adjuster sucks...the life of you)

I want to get started at drawing. What do i do as someone with genuinely 0 skill theoretical or manual.

I tried asking for advice before but i always get recommended stuff that's way too hard.
I genuinely can't do anything. What do i do to get started and then become progressively better and better?

If you have a certain level of autism you won't ever learn how to draw, sorry. Try pixel art instead

Well, cat-posting aside, I think the fastest way to improve is to develop your observational eye. Even as a comic book artist myself, who mainly draws from imagination, the time I improved the MOST was when I did a huge, concentrated amount of master copies, learning to copy what I saw very precisely.

It didn't make sense to me, as a beginner, why an artist who mainly wants to draw from imagination, must develop their eye, but it makes sense to me now, now that I've developed the skill. Developing your eye means basically developing a better ability to acquire visual information. In order to draw from imagination well, you need to first, be able to see forms, and second, be able to memorize them. But if you can't even see the forms properly in the first place, you will never be able to memorize them either.

So all of this is to say, I think you should be spending a lot of time doing studies, where each study takes 30+ minutes each. Give yourself the time to truly observe the subject you're drawing, and correct your mistakes. You can draw anything, but figure drawing will help you improve the fastest, because you can easily see your mistakes. A busted human figure looks busted to anybody. And i recommend you approach the figure through both master copies + life drawing. Get a Bridgman book, and do copies out of that for an hour, then go to life drawing class, and draw from life (or photos). I can recommend Loomis' "Figure Drawing for all it's worth" as a good, basic textbook for drawing the figure from life.

Developing your eye is a long journey, but it's the skill that pays off the most. If you can observe, construction and anatomy will come very easy to you.

true, but in fairness it's the leftoids who have been trying to push incoherent gender theory and faux benevolence into law, schools, and pushing it onto children (not all, obviously). so to an extent it's just a reaction of people fed up with irrationality.

Its really funny you think your doing anything besides just being contrarian, you truly have no idea what your talking about and it shows. Thinking anybody gives a fuck about le muhfuggin "identity" besides leftoids. How does someone even get like this let alone end up on 4chinz
