Not shilling, just pointing out that AMD fanboys are fucking over-hyping everything. Gotta bring people back down to earth and get their heads out of their asses and not gaslighting everyone.

Buttshit.
Tons of us upgraded from a 2500k or 3570k to a 1600/X or 2600/X and got massive performance improvements.
Averages might only be able 20% higher at best, but 1% lows improved by like fucking 500% a lot of the time which is massive. Stutters are gone.

That's because you had a thread deficit running background shit and just needed more threads for the scheduler to throw around. People running i7s didn't have nearly as much differences.
Hence why AMD quickly dropped the R3s in favor of APUs because people jumping from i5 and i7s actually sometimes had less performance.

It's not just "now"

I have fucking 2200G/2400G 1600x and 1700x systems but I'm not stupid enough to try deluding myself or trying to gaslight other people into thinking that AMD is taking any performance crowns home when I also have E5 Xeons. They are a budget option.

This shit proves nothing, my 2600x goes up to 4.2ghz stock boost and if i would overclock it i probably would get 4.2 all core, that's like 400mhz more than your first gen ryzen only because they fixed the bugs and improved a low power process
7nm is leading Performance process which will bring quiet a boost in clocks anyway
Also i wouldnt give a shit about gamers nexus speculating because they are just Benchmarking unboxers without the needed education to make such claims

Only if you have a golden chip, GamersNexus tested multiple chips and couldn't get a single one of them up there. Other channels haven't had much luck. I'm not saying you can't, but most people can't. AMD already pretty much has the 2700x pinned for all it's got out of the box.

You need LN2 to just barely hit 5.5ghz on a zen+. Zen2 isn't that much of a radical architectural change.

They are making an informed and educated guess instead of grabbing on to thin air. Other channels have also cited why they also don't believe the 5ghz rumor.

You conveniently left out that the Ryzen system has superior timings. And even if the 9700K had overall superior RAM, that wouldn't explain 30 extra frames per second on average at 1440p high settings.
>liquid cooler on the 9700k but not the ryzen

Even at 1080p what's the point in investing hundreds of dollars more on an intel system when:
A.) You're now required to disable hyperthreading or sacrifice a huge chunk of security
B.) Need to find a high end Z motherboard with enough phases and VRMs to support intel's designated (((((95W TDP)))))
C. Need a very high end tripple fan AIO or even more expensive exotic custom liquid cooling with 360mm tripple fans to maintain that 5GHz overclock

Why go through all that trouble when on average you only get single digit gains especially with hyperthreading disabled

Yeah upgrading from a mechanical drive to an SSD will be one of the most noticeable upgrades one can do to their computer. An upgrade that's not a placebo.

went from a 3770k to a 2600x, averages basically didn't change because gpu limited autism but my 1% lows were almost the same as average and .1% was still tolerable. If I had a high refresh rate monitor maybe an intel cpu of similar price would have been better, but I'm a 60hzlet on a gtx970 and I'm a slut for buttery no-stuttery performance

Here's what people don't understand.

The belief that gimping settings for the sake of "uncovering" the bottleneck, is already ancient myth.

What these youtuber reviewers aren't telling you, is the fact that games are still being written in a way that it maximizes one core at a time. which defeats the purpose of having more cores. Just look at the multi-core concepts that were shown by the API-makers.

They always have one core/thread take most of the burden of the process.

Here's hoping that after Zen2/3, the API Makers, as well as kernel updates for OS's will now fully scale with load-balancing in mind.

You're doing something wrong if a 9700k is "massively faster" than a 2700X when you're bottlenecked at 1440p with a 2080.
Set it to high performance profile and enable PBO. I bet your RAM is running at 2133, too.

That's the intent with Zen 2. Gonna see how the 3600x is and if it's what the rumours claim 4ghz/8core/16 thread then it's going to be a better option. Will need a new GPU tho so will be interesting if the Navi GPUs are good or shit. Been a while since an AMD only rig was viable.

Pentium 4 was easily worse than FX. FX-8150/FX-8350 was still a "good" chip and can still play games today to some extent. They aren't remotely competitive but they are still good enough that they lasted to the Ryzen chips for AMD purists, disregarding the insane chips they made since I have heard much on them.

Not saying they were remotely the best option for most purposes (8 cores/8threads meant they had some merit) and they definitely weren't as good as the Sandy Bridge and onwards chips but claiming they were remotely as bad as Pentium 4 is insane when Pentium 4s couldn't even touch Athlons.

You're retarded for believing forum trollposters who are doing suicide bench runs for bragging rights. Look at the chart posted by SiliconLottery, a company that tests and sells verified overclock-capable bins of CPU models.

91% of 2700X that can do 4.1Ghz at 1.375v
67% can do 4.15 at 1.40v
32% reach 4.2Ghz at 1.425v
Following the trend,
>7% of 2700X can do 4.25 at 1.45v
>.85% of 2700X can do 4.3Ghz at 1.475

For most people to hit these speeds they have to use a stupid amount of voltage. Liking pumping 1.55v+ into the chip for 4.3Ghz to be stable. That's enough volts to kill the chip in months.
