Get a 144fps monitor. 1440p is better, but a 1080p will do if jaggies don't bother you. You don't know what you're missing out on. 60fps feels like shit after seeing 144fps.

Also get an SSD. Even if it's only a 250gb sata, throw your OS and your most played game on there and your shit will boot up in seconds and you can blink past loading screens.

Is it an air cooler? If so, touching the heatsink should feel warm, not cool. If it's cool that means that heat isn't being sucked up from the IHS, AKA it's not doing it's job.

I'm going to guess you're not a retard and actually applied thermal paste and tightened the screws, so you maybe just forgot to peel off the sticker at the bottom before installing the cooler. Pic related.

No. If your board supports the 12MB cache Q9000's or Xeons and you can pick one up for dirt cheap then maybe.

The issue here is that you can sell your C2D system for $50 and pick up an i5 2500 one for $100 that would run rings around a C2Q.

Once my classes are over with this week, I'll be playing with lowering the memory latencies. Alot of people are using the "DRAM Calculator for Ryzen" to get their timings down and closed up. So going to play with that

Not that guy but i also want to ask. What is the best and cheap SSD?
I'm a poorfag and i don't really need 1TB SSD since i can't even fill 60% of my 1TB HDD.

If you care about speed and reliability go with the 250gb samsung 860 evo
If you care about saving a few bucks go with some chink 3D NAND TLC/MLC SSD that has good reviews, for example an adata drive

Speccy needs an update. Detecting a 9th gen CPU as a 7th gen is just a bit wrong.

To be fair the only difference between Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake is the core count, the cores themselves are identical, even the graphics

>> No.68767700

>>68767630
Different cache arrangement too. 7700k has 8MB of L3, 8700k/9700k have 12MB.

The fact is speccy should be able to see a difference between a 4 core w/ hyper threading, and a true 8 core. Especially when they have vastly different specs.
8MB L3 vs 12MB L3, 4.2Ghz stock vs 3.6Ghz stock. 4.5Ghz Turbo vs 4.9Ghz turbo.

It's not like they're identical CPUs.

i'd have been that goy if my X99 board hadn't destroyed my RAM and then if X99 boards weren't $400+ for anything decent right now, i'd have just replaced the motherboard.

As it is, I went ahead and got a 9700k. A bit higher multicore performance and much higher single core performance, all while using less power.

I've had good experiences with ADATA drives, both SATA and M.2.

Really anything from ADATA, Kingston or Crucial should be a decent budget pick.

it doesn't say dual channel.

X99 is quad channel, could be 4x4GB.

It's probably 2x8GB, but it COULD be 4x4GB.
