After OS, microcode, and motherboard BIOS updates, Xeon loses up to -57% performance in enterprise workloads, especially MySQL. This was confirmed and proven several months ago. It didn't say "go commie", although Americans are probably so brainwashed that they sincerely believe that the only alternative to allowing companies and corporations to do what ever the fuck they want on accord with consumer and citizen rights is full-blown communism.

I actually believe a regulated market, where customers can't simply sign their rights away through retarded disclaimers and EULAs and product agreements is the way to go.

If you can get sued by a company for buying their product and publishing findings for others that the product isn't living up to the advertisement, then the system is obviously broken as fuck and in dire need of some serious revision.

Epic was the first. And Meltdown """patch""" is the main culprit at the major part of the performance loss. Spectre """fixes""" gimp performance too, but Meltdown is where the main impact is at. Meltdown alone by itself is, like, single-handedly responsible for at least 80% of those -57% mentioned above. And only Inturd's CPoos are affected by Meltdown due to monolithic bingbus meshed structure, Zen is absolutely protected from this shit, thus Zen wins very big against Intrash now when it comes down to lucrative offering and actual feasibility in enterprise/server/business.

oh and with all these intel security holes they're almost on par for single core performance.

For two years Intel has been shat on for having less cores than Ryzen, this incoming 9th generation will tie it.

The only thing AMD will have over Intel are price so if you're on a shoestring budget or poorfag you buy Ryzen.

I'm not a huge fan of public services myself (although they are necessary in some key areas where market economics simply doesn't work because the goal of making profit diverges from the goal of providing an essential service), but it seriously astonishes me how Americans who are extremely preoccupied with their freedoms and rights are so willing to turn a blind eye when it comes to protecting consumers from corporate exploitation. I saw this particularly with the anti-NN shilling early this year (and late last year), and the hatred against the GDPR and right to privacy regulations from the EU, despite the fact that most /g/entoomen have a huge distrust against Google and Facebook normally. It's a massive inconsistency.

>What retards like you don't understand is that the only reason such absurd clauses are enforceable is because of the same government morons like you say is protecting us
This is literally a red herring. Such clauses are allowed BECAUSE of corporate lobbyism and of lack of restrictions on companies. The fact is that that according to US law, a citizen can freely waive his rights, something that gets exploited massively through arbitration and settlements.

In a sane legal system, you wouldn't be able to waive your rights so easily, and companies wouldn't be able to exploit this.

>n other words, according to leftists, it's a good thing we have government to protect us from government
The government's sole occupation should be to protect its citizens. If it is protecting corporations over citizens and giving corporations rights (see corporate personhood), then it's obviously not doing its job.

In other places in the world, such as Germany and Norway, such non-publication clauses are actually considered illegal, which is why I can publish my thesis results about their shitty IOMMU implementation freely without fearing to be sued by Intel lawyers.

Meltdown became a thing JUST because of Intel's monolithic bingbus meshing structure they've been heavily abusing since the fucking Core 2 days. Meltdown is a vulnerability on a HARDWARE level, in METAL, which CANNOT be fully protected from by mere "software patches/updates", it's a HARDWARE HOLE, a HARDWARE FLAW. Zen, however, has MCM/CCX non-monolithic structure and Meltdown can't do jack shit to that, thus Zen is fully protected from the day-fucking-one.

if you think intel is finished, tell people and if the public loses trust in intel (which people shouldnt really have in the first place.) then the market will decide intels fate, so long as 'they' dont influence too much (gov and or jews/rich people)
Ayymd will naturally start doing better than intel if they can keep the momentum they have gained with ryzen (everyone i know who uses intel has said they'd by amd if the situation is the same when they go to upgrade, not like they could drop in a new cpu anyway)

10 nm is broken beyond repairs. If they somehow manage to print a 8core with it by 2020-2021, then it will sell as an i3/i5 whit terrible yields.

Greetings test subject, Cave Johnson here, CEO of Intel Corporation. Gonna skip the formalities, we got a bit of an issue. Apparently some of those eggheads in engineering found several more vulnerabilities in our products, and to fix them would require a... let's see... 50% performance loss. This could obviously end badly, so I'm taking action. That's right, fired those eggheads on the spot and replaced them with our finest licensed intel(tm) scientists. Of course we also need to deal with the issue of people performing benchmarks and finding out how badly these microcode updates botched our products, so my lawyers advised me to sneak in a little clause about how we can sue them if they post any benchmarks. Dunno if that's even legal, but there's no harm in it. What are those wimps gonna do, sue us? I'd like to see them try!

anyway, Cave Johnson here. We're done.

This isn't a free market though. If you're being sued, then the state is upholding the TOS as a legal document. This can only happen in a regulated market where a user agreement suddenly becomes enforceable in court. The state could simply say they won't enforce that clause, even if their users agree to it.
You can voluntarily sign a ToS saying you'll give your firstborn to Intel, that doesn't mean you'll be forced to do it by a court.

Rumor has it that they may do a 1:2 split in the near future; basically double the number of stocks anyone originally purchased. So might be good to still drop more money into it right now. Because if they overtake Intel in stock price by end of next year, those individual shares will be worth a fuckton of money.

Capitalism is an economic system based on private ownership of the means of production and their operation for profit. Trade can be heavily regulated and it could still be capitalism. Laissez-faire free market capitalism is a meme.

https://www.google.com/search?q=amd%20stock

My mouse's is fucked, I can't select shit and middle click basically opens up 15 tabs of whatever link I happen to be hovering over at the time or just blank tabs; otherwise I'd use a picture.

AMD stock is 22.29 right now and is projected to open at 22.69 tomorrow morning at 8. The rate of increase implies that by end of Friday, we'll be pushing $24 territory. With all the mainstream review youtubers and reporting on twitter of Intel trying to make benchmarks illegal and the fact that such an action itself is illegal under US and EU law, is going to blow the FUCK UP on the internet over the next few days.

The secondary implications of that with chip IPC performance of what a fully mitigated + microcode updated chip means is going make matters for Intel even worse--cause if Intel tries to throw its weight around over benchmarks, someone will have the money to say to Intel "I'll see you in court over this." Which is EVEN WORSE PR.

This move is putting them onto a path of PR freefall that won't be containable.

AS A RESULT OF ALL OF THE ABOVE, IT WILL MAKE AMD WHICH IS NOT VULNERABLE FOR MOST OF THE MAJOR EXPLOITS THAT AFFECTS INTEL, AN EVEN SUPERIOR PLATFORM.

TO MAKE MATTERS EVEN WORSE, AS THIS HAPPENS, IT WILL DRIVE AMD'S STOCK PRICE EVEN HIGHER.

Shit guys, we might end up seeing AMD get to within 88-90% of Intel's stock price by Christmas. Which is exactly where Zen was in IPC performance when it first launched. Its literally a prophecy.

Zen2, with Zen2 Threadripper & Zen2 Eypc will push AMD past Intel. They'll have the process, node, uArch advantage, IPC, AND CORE COUNT with superior SMT perf ADVANTAGE.

Next year AMD will overtake Intel on every single front imaginable. This in turn will drive stock price into mid 40s, easily into the 50s within 6 months of Zen2 uArch launching.

Just think about it, 64c/128t single socket chips with Kabylake perf with 3-3.3GHz stock clocks.
