got another one for you

The high heat used in the DVD burning process can reach temperatures of up to 800 degrees celsius -- enough to penetrate the crystalline structure of a DVD-R and permanently mark it with pure thermal energy without scorching the surface.

Basically, the thermal shield inside the drive is rated for 800C for a hypothetical 1x speed burn of an entire DVD. In layman's terms, that means the heat shielding in your drive was only meant to handle 60 minutes of constant use from the burn. Anything more and you risk the heat-resistant drive seals starting to melt... and then once the cheap-quality steel your drive is mostly comprised of is exposed to the laser, you can probably imagine what happens next.

It takes about 20-30 minutes for the heat to dissipate and the thermal shield to relax again at a safe temperature -- but usually modern DVD writers are a bit faster. And remember, most DVD burns are complete in minutes flat which reduces the likelihood of something going awry and a laser literally melting your PC. So you should be able to get around 100 DVDs in.

DVDs are quite fascinating; the way high thermal energy reacts to etch the crystal in the DVD itself is really neat. You can see after the burn how the crystal turns dark in response -- unlike normal crystals which would shatter from being spun due to centrifugal forces at such high heat. Plus they're one of the fastest-cooling materials known to man. As soon as the burn is complete and the system verifies that the disc is safe to handle, it's already cooled enough to just be warm to the touch.

I would recommend getting a professional-grade DVD burner if you need to do more than 100 DVDs per session, or to at least take frequent breaks. This isn't something you want to joke around with.

post the complete guide to becoming a dangerous hacker

>> No.52334647

Hello /g/. Over time I have learnt a lot from this hacking board, so I feel it's time to give something back to the community. Now I feel I have to give something back. So for your enjoyment and education, here is a starting guide to becoming a Hacker.

First, let's talk about the hacker mentality. It's mature and complex. You need to understand that hacking is not something just any kid can learn in one day. To be a proper hacker takes months, sometimes even up to a year. Complete mastery of the Command Prompt and Notepad++ (explained below) is very complex.

Now you're prepared for the road ahead, I'll walk you through modifying your OS so it is suitable for hacking purposes. You have only one choice of OS when it comes to being a hacker - Windows. Windows is the oldest and most stable OS, and it also has a nice UI (which stands for User Interface by the way, as all true hackers know). Windows can also be obtained for free, but that's a very complicated procedure and should only be attempted by veteran hackers.

Here are some programs you can use to make your desktop more Elite:
Rainmeter - can be used to install and hack system information like RAM (speed) and Hard Drive (amount of memory).

>> No.52334681

devianT art - has lots of cool hacker desktop backgrounds.
Internet Explorer - this allows you to connect to the web, which is a vital meeting place for hackers worlwide. You can find fellow hackers in the Deep Web. The main meeting ground for experienced hackers is 4chan's very own >>>/b/.

Ok, now for the important parts. Hacking tools. First of all, you are going to want notepad++. This is what hackers use to write malicious code.
Now that you can program correctly, I'll teach you how to Ping a website to uncover it's IP (Internet Persona) address. Open the Command Prompt. Type ping.[site] - for example ping dot 4chan dot org - and you will bruteforce the system into handing over its IP.
These are the two main tools for advanced hacking.

Now for another important part of hacking which is often overlooked - security. Although the seasoned hacker is always one step ahead of his government, it's important to employ constant vigilance. To remain anonymous while you hack the internet, always connect through a proxy service, such as unblocked.org and hidemyass dot com. These sites will make you untraceable. Another encryption method you should always be using is Windows' Hidden folder utility. To hide a folder, right click on it and click properties. Check the 'hidden' box. The folder will now remain undetectable unless you make hidden folders visible. It is highly unlikely that anyone with no prior hacking/Modding experience will have the skills to do this.

Fresh off the boat, from reddit, kid? heh I remember when I was just like you. Braindead. Lemme give you a tip so you can make it in this cyber sanctuary: never make jokes like that. You got no reputation here, you got no name, you got jackshit here. It's survival of the fittest and you ain't gonna survive long on 4chan by saying stupid jokes that your little hugbox cuntsucking reddit friends would upboat. None of that here. You don't upboat. You don't downboat. This ain't reddit, kid. This is 4chan. We have REAL intellectual discussion, something I don't think you're all that familiar with. You don't like it, you can hit the bricks on over to imgur, you daily show watching son of a bitch. I hope you don't tho. I hope you stay here and learn our ways. Things are different here, unlike any other place that the light of internet pop culture reaches. You can be anything here. Me ? heh, I'm a judge.. this place.... this place has a lot to offer... heh you'll see, kid . . . that is if you can handle it...

Never used xfwm, but openbox is super easy to configure and if you just want a basic bitch floating WM with configurable anything, it werks. No bar, no tiling, little to no extensibility.
