Mac is winderful. Just got homebrew installed to get a few unix utilities installed. Anyone know some must-have utilities? It's not too long ago I got a Macbook Air, never had a mac before. I love the laptop and the operation system so much that I would like to try OS X Server. Has anyone tried it and is it reliable?

Most of them just copy and paste the same protection scheme. If you're downloading an app store app from somewhere that isn't the app store, then it's probably already cracked, making a receipt swap kinda pointless. Same thing goes for those who don't check receipts (read: Apple).

If there's no receipt file in the app and it runs fine then you don't have to bother messing with shit. If there is a receipt with the app, then whomever distributed it is a fuccboi and needs to stop, as that receipt ties to their account and isn't even generated for your system. Pirated App Store apps = no receipt pls.

Never really noticed except for the square buttons and finder sidebar icons. Pretty much stayed on 10.6 until summer 2012. Then I installed Lion so I could install 10.8. Was there any graphical changes between .7 and .8?

Also I am getting annoyed with all of the blue lately. Too many blue backgrounds and applications.

A lot of third party apps are starting to have the same color scheme as well. I really want some red. Kind of like Firefox Aurora.

I love to get over Lion's+ UI changes. So much that I'd use hypnosis if possible.

Turning the scrollbar gray was a great thing, but I guess that's just an opinion

I wouldn't even bother. It's so much of a hassle (at least it was for me) you're better off using FreeBSD.

I don't know, I might be one of those conservative fucks that doesn't like change.

So, currently I'm using a desktop pc with 1280x1024 22" monitor.
I'm thinking of getting a laptop this summer. Should I go for a MBA or a rMBP? The main difference to me seems like the resolution and a some battery life. Can someone advice me?

>> No.42140422

It really depends on if you want the resolution, Apple actually undersold the MacBook Pro battery life so it wouldn't cut into MacBook Air sales

>> No.42140457

Higher resolution seems nice but would a retina display make things a lot smaller?

It uses scaling, so no

Daily reminder that OS X, unlike Windows and any Linux distro, is illegal to be installed on any computer not made by Apple.

tell this to the courts ;)

But that was my whole point. Literally my first post was stating how it was illegal. You're not very good at debating are you?

>> No.42140576

Well, I am not the guy you were debating with. I just came here to troll a little bit. You seriously think I would read through a thread which starts with "Mac is winderful.."
