Nope. XP was great because it was tried and true, proven, an improvment of already tested and implemented technology.

Vista was awesome too - But there were a lot of changes, and software and hardware makers lagged behind after it came out, which resulted in the backlash against it. If you are running Vista today with all the service packs, it is almost as great as 7.

For what? You're meant to pin your frequently used apps to your taskbar. Anything else you need is accessible via Metro just as quickly as on Win7. (typing it or having it visible as soon as you open it)

WinKey+type name of the program I want + Enter and it's gone.

You aren't required to use the Full-Screen Metro apps. They are there to be default apps but by no means required. Install your own Music player, PDF Reader and use the classic Windows Photo Previewer if you want. I never use any of them and don't understand how Windows having a few default applications in order to handle more files out of the box is a bad thing.

I've never had Metro get in the way, considering I open it purposely by hitting the WinKey. Do you have downs?

I hate people like you who actually think consoles have great or even acceptable graphics. They are only competitive when they are first launched, and even then, most $1000+ gaming rigs still outperform and look better. Consoles are then shit all over a year+ down the road. Case and point? GTA V on 360 looks worse than GTA IV on PC by far, no question. Some kid heard me complaining that GTA V looking like shit and said it looks great and I told him that hes never seen what PC games look like then if he thinks its fine and then he proceeds to pull out some shitty acer plastic laptop so clearly he hasnt. If this kid would play my install of GTA IV with icenhancer and a custom enb he'd think it was some next gen console from 10+ years in the future.

Now your system is no different than Windows 7, thus nullifying any point in "upgrading" to Windows 8.

Apple doesn't want to see your life or your family's improved. They care about their shareholders and the rich western consumers.

Bill Gates has a good heart and as he is the man behind windows in many ways. He cares and wants to help and thats why I feel like I have a moral obligation to not support greedy short-sighted men and their companies.

Running a corporation/business always has been and always will be about making money. Throwing morals out the window is a good thing in business. Maybe you should read up on how to make a lot of money, it involves emulating a jew.

you're not restoring anything

the grid start screen is much more useful than that menu nonsense, and everything else plus more that was in the start menu is still in, you just need to right click to get at it. but nice try though

Fuck you, I'm Jewish.

As I've said, that's short sighted. Weak Minded, strong willed, doesn't care what kind of world our children inherit. You will die full of regret and strife.

Well, I'm hyped for Asus's T100 which looks pretty good, especially for university and runs windows 8.1.

>I hate people like you who actually think consoles have great or even acceptable graphics.
I couldn't care less.

>They are only competitive when they are first launched, and even then, most $1000+ gaming rigs still outperform and look better. Consoles are then blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

They're acceptable for me and most people. I work in 3D and work with unbiased renderers like Maxwell and Indigo, in which current realtime game rendering engines like CryEngine 3 and UE4 look like cud in comparison to. Even biased renderers like Mental Ray and Vray give current game renderers an arse-whooping.

'cause for just your education, any normal laptop will probably do fine.

>> No.36849996

Why are Microsoft so fucking retarded?

If only they'd just made a fucking separate tablet OS like everyone else, we would have been FUCKING FINE.

Honestly, I even loved the idea of the Surface Pro, but the Surface RT was so terrible (because lolRT) and the price is so fucking high.

I would actually love a a Surface Pro.
