Corsair is a meme but $79.99 for this thing was such a deal many years ago when I was getting into my first build, it was clear you were working with a $79 case, but it looked way more expensive than it was, and I could get a 750W CX750 for $69.99

I've never used a kill a watt, but that sounds about right, the 990FX chipset itself draws 19.6w, even more if you overvolt that and do a bus overclock, it's way overblown how much heat it puts out, I can overclock it to 4.5GHz on air with the equivalent of a Hyper 212.

That's probably the nicest FX setup you can have, my 7970 still performs well but it's a fuel sucking motherfucker compared to a Pascal 1060.

I'm still running an 8350 HD7970 meme build as well, not sure but Jayztwocents has some videos of an 8350 with a 1070 and it's bottlenecked to hell, but the framerate was still good, so you wouldn't notice on a 60hz display.

>it's a fucking $500 board
That's the beauty of the 990FXA-UD3 that no one seems to care about, it looks and performs like a $500 mobo but it costs about $140 at most

The thing clocks 100MHz slower than an Asus Crosshair Formula-Z with the same voltage set, but that's a $279 mobo compared to a $140 board, that in my opinion looks better than the red and black meme scheme and gimmicky gaymen features.

Yes my PC is ugly but the UD3 makes it okay.

The Original sabertooth 990FX was made before the 220w 9000 sereies, but the VRM was really strong, stronger than my 990FXA-UD3 that claims to support 9590

>>71350170
Goddamn that is a cool build compared to my hobbled together machine that only looks decent because motherboard.

Yeah I don't even know, I cranked the power level to +20 and that's it, the temps are fine, the card isn't loud even on furmark.

Piledriver refresh was the bomb, and my 990FXA-UD3 with 1.4v and Medium LLC does does 4.5GHz on fucking air while hitting 58C.

Also Verge takes notes on cable management.

>cooling
>expensive
I'm on a $30 air cooler and it does 4.5Ghz and hits 59C under prime small FFTs while performing like a locked i7-4770, it is extremely powerful for what it would've cost compared to a 4770 non K rig, my PSU is a cheap 70 dollar single rail thing and my board was the most expensive at about $130, but the 8350 didn't cost alot compared to a locked i7.

>which can be a bit stronger when the sibling core isn't in use
You are right about that, the ipc of one core with all resources used was that of a high clocked Core 2 Duo, It was weak, and AMD Fx was so dependant on the multithreading that didn't really exist for gaymen in 2011, which is sad because for the $70 you can get a new 8350 for today, it's actually a good budget rendering chip that you can have fun overclocking and it's not the end of the world if you kill it.

>>69496357
Passing IBT is plenty stable, and your board and PSU are not the problem, maybe cranking the VCORE to 1.35v would make it stable because that's what mine is, I've got a crappy CX750 with one 12v rail and huge amounts of vdroop isn't an issue, and my load line calibration works great, it's not spiking the power and killing it.
