Still rolling with my Phenom II system. Smooth as butter. I don't play new games.

Uh why should I upgrade when all I do is basic shit and play older games?

Still Rolling on. Only play older games anymore (1999 -2k4) so hell this does fine.

I've got a FX 8300/8GB DDR3 system in my basement along with a few other older systems.

My daily driver is this baby: See Pic

Again; This baby runs smooth and fast as fuck. Truly the only reason to upgrade anymore is "meh games" and that's only if you play new titles.

This baby is fast. Still running the original Windows 7 install from 2010. Hardware has changed over the years but the install has stayed the same due to Macrum Reflect and system images

New hardware: HDD swap for SDD, Upgrade ram, new mobo (replaced am2+ board for am3) to get sata 3, bust the 4GB ram limit and USB 3 support.

Still Rolling with this. Everything loads fine, web, youtube, photoshop, etc. So anyone who says "it's slow for basic shit" is full of shit themselves. Only thing is that new games is kinda limited on it. But I don't play new games so why should I care?

I use an Xonar DGX card and it blows the onboard realtec chip away. Said realtec chip is supposedly the higher end line to. Used an Audigy 2 ZS and Audigy 1 way back. Both were great cards. Still got them somewhere.

Honestly? I don't even need 32GB. But at the time DDR3 was cheap and the board supported it so..

Still rolling with this baby. I don't play new games. Hell the newest game I play is UT 2K4. Only really demanding task is the occasional video encode job. For what I do this ain't obsolete by a long shot. This model is the 95w variant btw.

This baby still runs smooth as a babies ass and it's processor has been in use since 2010. Fuck "upgrading"; zero point and gains to do it.

Phenom II x4 955 - Still going strong. I don't play new games so there's no reason to "upgrade" anything.

Still works fine for me. Going strong thus far. Only reason to upgrade is for new games but since I don't play them I could care less.

Never. I don't play newer games. I don't keep 100 Tabs open at once, I don't render 1TB image files nor do I encode 100GB video files.

The only thing I do that even pushes my current cpu is the occasional dvd video encode or rip.
Thanks to parts being all standard and replaceable I can keep this baby going for a long ass time. I got spare core parts in a closet (Mobo/Ram/CPU/and Graphics card).

There comes a point where you hit a wall; why upgrade and spend money when the gains will not be worth it. And don't get me started on the windows 7 eol thing; that's just bullshit. Long as it works, use it. I still use software today that's 15 yrs old. Why? Cause it just works.

This works for me. I could build a new system and spend a boat load of money but why? I don't play new games, the only demanding daily tasks I do is internet and e-mail. The only thing that even pushes all cores is the occasional video encode job. So I'd be blowing money for no gain at all, unless you count "bragging rights". After you blow a few thousand on shit one day you'll wake up and realize just how pointless it all was.

Who cares?

If you can hit 30 fps with high res, game settings jacked and af/aa turned on then your doing good.

Thank god I play older titles. Any card made within the last 10 yrs or so, long as they got least a 128bit bus can run them all with all things jacked and at high res with no problems. So that means your so called "budget" cards are plenty for my needs.

So while you are all blowing $600+ like it's nothing on shit that will only last you till the next big thing hits I'm kicking back letting my money pile up in the bank.

This baby works just fine. Runs smooth as babies ass. Thanks to keeping spare core parts on hand (brand new btw) I can keep her running for 20 yrs or more. The cpu is 8 yrs old now and still kicking. While others blow 1k or more for new graphics cards and new cpu's I'm just kicking back enjoying my money as it piles up in the bank.
