>didnt even notice none of the GPUs listed at even on the screenshot

clearly you dont even know how to read benchmarks

Fun fact
65% of people can read a map of their city to find their own house

It depends on the game but at 60hz display he should be fine

A good upgrade would be a i7 sandy or ivy bridge chip

The FX series was worse than the Phenom IIs at launch...

A stock non overclocked 2500k is better than any FX cpu in gaming still to this day.
A 2600k is still good enough for any GPU up to a v56/1070 ti

The FX chips have been a bottleneck since the 7950 came out in most games

Came here to post this
Also the 2600k was the better purchase over the 2500k

Faildozer was a fail
It was slower than the phenom 2 six core chips and had worse IPC

2600K was the best CPU buy you could have ever made if you got it on launch
It came out in Jan of 2011 but it still is good enough

I am saying
old ass games use 1-2 cores
oldish games use 3-4 cores
modern games are using 4-6 cores
future games will use 6-8 cores

6c6t chips will be where 4c4t chips are at today by this time next year.
That is they will be 100% load in gaming limiting performance like the i3 does today.
6c12t chips will limit performance in future games less than 6c chips as time goes on.
Look at the old 4c i5s and how they compare in modern games vs the i7s of the same generation.
The i7s are still competitive where as the i5 CPUs are being maxed out.

For 3 years?
They have had like 3% IPC gain in 8~ years
Most of the performance gains of newer CPUs is due to higher clocks or newer instruction sets not available to older chips
actual hard IPC has not changed much

Btw
If these gains are true and the chips hit 4.6ghz this would be comparable performance to a 5.1ghz ryzen 2xxx

>muh gaming performance
Since the day we have had 4c8t chips its been useless to compare CPUs in gaming performance

The X chip is 60 dollars more expensive and you can OC the 2600 to 4.0ghz without any issues
Dont really need VRM cooling on a 6 core chip 8 core yes
cheapest memory at a rated speed is fine unless you want to pay tripple for B die memory
All SSDs if they are sata are basically the same at this point
HDD is fine
ACX is a fine card the iCX is 70 dollars more which puts it more than most 1080s
case is fine looks good and is cheap
PSU is cheap but is actually good quality

basically you are retarded and cant into budgets nor price to performance

what is this 2011 or something?

Unless you game on a 144hz+ panel and have a 1080 ti the 8700k makes no sense

10% higher clocks(4.7-4.8ish single core)
10% IPC
10% less power
5% better core scaling/ interconnect
6 cores per CCX so 12 core on AM4
official support for 3466 memory but will run w/e you can put in it.

Intel on 10nm?
Basically 8700k performance
Ring bus design stops being "better" at 8 cores this is why the X series chips switched to mesh
Honestly dont expect much of an improvment from intel for a while.
It will have lower power usage and we might see a soldered chip on the K and X chips

Basically if you have a 4c4t chip dont buy anouther 4c chip its a waste of money
If someone does not have a PC or has a toaster ancient shitbox the 2200g on a b350 platform is a great stepping stone
Its basically a i5 7500 + GT 1030/RX 550 gpu for $95
Anyone that purchased a 4c chip newer than a 2600k got scammed

If all you do is gaming, there's no reason to buy even an 8700K.
