They are engineering samples, but because the change from Haswell to Broadwell was essentially just a die shrink, there really isn't any eratta in the CPUs. They were $800 each instead of $4000+ each. The one difference is they don't clock as high or turbo as high as a genuine E5-2699v4. But as you can see from the 120+ day uptime, they are perfectly reliable.

I'm going to wait until the successor to AMD AM4 socket systems before upgrading.
