I worked there for about 2 months, wouldn't have quit but I had to move.

Worked in women's shoes, which is pretty much the best department to work in unless the store has a salon shoes department which is designer shit.

You walk around, talk to people, pretend they're super cool and interesting, and grab them what you need. Women's shoes made 10% commission because women are generally super fucking needy when they shop there and you run back and forth a million shoe boxes and be as friendly as you can.

I worked 30 hours a week and averaged $20-25 per hour there, which is pretty okay as a part time-ish starting level job. If you have the opportunity to work there I'd do it.
Only downside is if your store is in a small town or something you'll likely have to wear a suit, more fashion forward store like the one I worked had a dress code of "wear whatever the fuck you want if it looks good".
Also if you dont meet sales goals they go hard on your ass, you should be making at least double minimum wage and it's really not hard

jacket in pic is White Mountaineering from 2012, 12 pockets on that mofo. i use to have one it was pretty neat


But aside from White Mountaineering which does really great outerwear, look into military inspired repro stuff. Real McCoys would be a good start, or jap streetwear brands like Wtaps or Maiden Noir or something that take a lot of inspiration from military clothing.

If you don't have the excess cash for that you could always shop milsurp but you run a high chance of looking like an idiot if you don't know what you're doing and most everything will have awful cuts
