Med school usually has a pretty formal dress code but not usually set in stone but it depends which ones. You could see what students already attend and get a general idea.

Standards have probably slipped today but I think med school students should still look professional. All depends on which way you want to present yourself.

Lol it's a step up from a hoody and baggy jeans or whatever, but it's still a really casual look.

It's just chinos, sneakers (trainers) and a non-dress shirt. Every part of the outfit is casual. It's probably a good area to start in though as going formal will be such a change if you're not used to anything like that.
