The orignal watch of choice would be the Cartier Tank, there are some used ones on ebay that you could get cheap but there are other brands like Seiko who make basically the same watches.

I do own pic related and its pretty nice...wanted something like Alain Delon in Le Samourai and couldnt find a Tank for under 300 bucks so I went for the Seiko. Its about 100 bucks/90pounds.
