So what was the point of the other guy?

For instance in my last restaurant job, the line cooks had everything prepped an ready to go and the dishes took less than six minutes to prepare, the menu probably had at most 25 items

Of those a few we're appetizers which I prepared from scratch
During lunch and dinner rush I served all the customers ( I never have any bad customer experiences)
During the slow hours I cleaned the front of the house from top to bottom
Anyway I forgot why I was arguing about
I know it had to do with tips though and I do feel entitled to my tips

Like I said however I respect each job I take and I do not share my views because I do not feel entitled to do so

I take those heavy child seats all around the restaurant, I bus the tables and sweep the floor I prepared all the appetizers and even worked the bar when necessary
This and so much more because my boss was a dickhead

Honestly in those jobs I did my best to make sure each customer received amazing service and all their needs were met. I would get customers alway telling me " no don't put the money in the jar! That is for you!"

When you work with the people directly it makes thing much clearer.

I agree though sometimes tips are mostly for the food.

To the OP family and other establishments who deny the tips that customers leave to the waiters:

Fuck you. You are assholes. If you have worked for at least a week you will see how wrong that is to do. I have worked as a waitress in different locations and when you provide excellent service, customers often leave YOU huge tips. They will even band it to you directly and tell you " that's for you, not for the rest of the staff"

Seriously, if you do the job for just a bit you will see that it feels so wrong to not get what you have earned
