It just feels a lot better to write things down on paper! I know some people also like taking notes in class in regular notebooks instead of using a laptop/tablet too. And also, I don't use a smart phone, so I can't take notes with my phone.

I know Rotring makes arguably the best mechanical pencils, but they're everything I hate in a pencil. They feel too heavy, and when you write, they're so sturdy that you can pretty much feel the pencil lead scraping on the paper. It's like fingernails running down a chalkboard silently.

Pic related are my favorite pencils in the whole world. So light. So soft. I haven't tried those Blackwing things yet but I doubt they're *that* much better.

If you buy them on sale for $300 and sell them when they're too old for your tastes, you basically only paid $100 for CPs, which is one hell of a good deal.
