I'd say try the regular 'entry-level', Naked & Famous, Unbranded, Cheap Monday, even Nudies and Levis - just find a cut where you like how it sits on your waist/hips and thighs.
Most 'designer' denim might be cut a little too skinny for you, but don't forget you can look at Japanese/heritage brands (if you're happy to spend the money) - they do some very nice tapered cuts with excellent denim.
Don't forget, once you find a cut that suits your hips/waist you can always get the legs tapered for how you'd like 'em.

You'll hear this a lot, but you really just have to try them on and see how you like them yourself, but those brands should give you a starting point.
