These are not "leather".

I was becoming a bit worried if they weren't fakes. But i got them from a reputable old b&m store and besides, i can't google up any fake chucks leather monos. They look pretty authentic... even if Made in China.
Their leather very much reminds me of the Soviet army kirza. Isn't that false advertising - saying it's "leather" when it's obviously synthetic?
But other than that, i like them a lot. Well, except for one small issue... the eyelets are glossy, i wish they were mat.

Basically, i was looking for subtle, low key, all black sneakers, but didn't want any meme shoe like muh af1. Couldn't afford anything over $120, so no achilles. Nothing niggerish, ubiquitous, bydlo, played out hipster, infantile like Nike, Adidas, Puma, New Balance, Vans, etc. I already have classic Reeboks and Asics, wanted something new. Also, believe it or not - in my entire life i never had a pair of Converse (except, when i was a boy in Soviet Union, i had a Soviet version called "кeды" - they were rip off of PF Flyers but, for some reason, named after the Keds. Everyone had to buy them for gym classes.)
