Dude, why does it bother you that much?
Like specifically - I'm genuinely curious

I agree its generic and lame, but it doesn't make me mad at all. There's even a few nice looking boots & some decent jeans inspo on there.

maybe its cause I don't follow enough workwear blogs to be pissed off by bad ones...

you must have missed the "wisconsin" part...
I would probably die
but any exertion in a sweater like that would have me sweatin - that's what's annoying

>>7471717
is it possibly that this is a single autist crusader since he's making up new shit?

and for the record I only tripped in case hip$ster remembers me from workwear/boot threads
I give no fucks about "le online personas" otherwise

I know right
I was so tempted to buy it just to have such a ridiculously heavy sweater
the knit pattern was really cool too
Ive got a sewing machine and could tailor it to fit better
but it was like 40usd and im not gonna drop that on a novelty item during christmas shopping season

thing weighed like 5lbs
the wool was ~1cm thick
built for operating in blizzards or something
even here in goddamn Wisconsin it would be too heavy

1Ks look dressier than any RWs.
However, I personally think RWs look much cleaner/better-designed/less dadcore
RWs are #workwear whereas 1ks are more dadcore/menswear
I've handled both, and RWs have noticeably higher-quality/cleaner construction/stitching

If you want sleeker/dressier go for 1ks
If you want tougher/workwear go for RWs

RW and Wolverine are totally separate things from Chip, as extensively stated already
However, I'm pretty sure Chippewa makes the katahdin stuff
I've owned 1 pair of similar-grade boots (Thorogoods, which I believe are also made in the Chip factory) and I can say that the weak point is the leather. Construction is good, soles are vibram, but the leather can be total shit quality. Its not consistent tho - some pieces of the boot will be good leather, and others will be shit.
I think mainline Chippewas might have decent leather, but I would just save up for the next price bracket if I were you.

Damn son, never thought I would compliment a pair of Fryes, but those look great!

any boots as long as you wear thick socks
the ones in your pic should all be fine, though low traction
if you want more traction get something with lug soles/wafflestompers like pic related

>> No.7273977 [View]

>>7273958
oh, in that case, check out chippewa's lineup on zappos. many options there

also, if you live in an area with Fleet Farms, the house brand is made by chippewa and they have boots like you want

These in 8.5EE

actually seem bigger than the 9.5s.
Although, the 9.5s were given to me mint by a friend, and he may have told me the wrong size.

well, you happen to have come to the right place! I own 2 pair, including pic related in 9.5D.
Hip$ter also knows a lot about this.

>quality/construction
amazing. Only other similar stuff I own is Oak Street and Red Wing, and its distinctly better than both. A lot of care obviously goes into each pair

>sizing
I own a 9.5D and an 8.5EE and they both fit about the same as my old size 9 CDBs or my size 9.5 vans slip-ons.
About the same total volume inside both. the Ds are longer/narrower, and the EEs are slightly shorter/wider as you would expect.

Also, Yuks are reasonably easy to find on sale, which is really nice. Overall highly recommended.
