Their basics are pretty damn great. I used to have some decent-ish beater pants/jeans from UNIQLO, they outlived a lot of my more expensive stuff from the US. Airism stuff is also rad as fuck.

That's a broad question - can you provide more detail? Price range? What your style is? Etc?

Most broadly, though, other posters are right - if you live in the US, you can't beat the price/quality ratio of Levi's.

I love me a good old fashioned Model 10. It's stereotypical as hell, but there's beauty in it. Also it's gotten numerous of my ancestors out of dodge so I owe it something.

Since I'm American, the default is a sack suit, likely from Brooks Brothers. I'd keep that style but dramatically taper in the waist of the jacket to create more powerful shoulders. A pocket square, but a square, nothing fancier. Simple, inoffensive, basic ties - I think excessive ornamentation would seem inappropriate. Similarly, no jewelry other than a wedding ring - I think an expensive watch would be inappropriate for the position.

Of course, since this is a fantasy, I'd also want the fabric to be extremely durable and somewhat flexible. Not sure if I'd be comfortable with some sort of lycra blend, but I like the idea of a suit that doesn't bunch too much with movement.

tl;dr: modern version of 80s powersuit minus the flash

>They're bad for lifting and exercise desu because they have zero heel, it's just a slab of rubber
In comparison to real lifting shoes, you're absolutely correct. There's definitely something better about heeled lifting shoes or whatever. I have a pair and love them, except for the annoyance where I have to get out of them to do any sort of cardio.

With that said, chucks are great intro lifting shoes, especially if you rip the insoles out. No need to buy a pair of romaleos or their equivalent until you're down the road.

Chuck Taylors. The originals, anyway. The stability is a godsend, trust me.

>Jogging/tennis
I can't speak too much on this, but there are GREAT articles on the topic. I've been shopping for some myself and found this, which seems legit:

This is a bit of an exaggeration, in my experience.

Most of the girls I knew in Japan explained that they felt weird not putting an effort in when going out, even on a routine basis. They'd have been mortified if, for example, they were caught studying in sweatpants or something. It's very, very similar to most of the traditional Southern U.S. women I know - refusing to go outside without makeup and stuff.

I'm not sure if you could characterize that as a concern about face or whatever, but yeah.

Depending on your aesthetic, you can do the following:

(1) Go get some art you really like online, as high rez as possible
(2) Modify the fuck out of it to personalize it (and avoid copyright issues)
(3) Get it printed on wall canvas
(4) [Optional] Get sound baffling and put it behind the wall canvas so the canvas also acts as a sound dampening panel

I've done this for fun, it's pretty goddamn nice and effective. Costs about $150-200 total for a 40"x30" canvas.

Seconding the Kuru Toga, I love it. Kinda wish it wasn't made partially out of plastic, but whatever, at the price it's solid as hell. Another very easy-to-find option is a Zebra M-301, which are common and cheap enough to carry and lose.

I've used but have not purchased a Rotring 600, they are fucking great, but ditto on that edgelord coloring. Kinda wish it was just pure steel or something.

>Is it just for colour choice or something else?
Generally speaking, yes. Sometimes more casual dress shoes will come with more bright/colored laces but will also have more neutral/normal laces as back-up. I've always imagined it's a bit of an attempt to appease old men who don't like change.

Clay Anderson is a BALLER

But to answer your question:

Don't layer. I know you want to, but really, don't.

If you must, and if I were you, I'd look into super freakin cheap shirts from like H&M, if only because their brand is so cheap I'd be somewhat assured the material would be virtually see-through.

This is super subjective, so bear with me:

The worst thing about Jags is the interior, be it the F-type, the XJ, XK, etc.

I've never sat in a Jaguar that had an actually thought-out cabin. The use of a touchscreen is silly and adds to driver distraction, and the UI is slow and clunky. That said, I've never touched a Jaguar button that didn't feel like cheap crap. The design of the XJ in particular is pretty cool and unique, but in person somehow looks cheap and a bit dated. There's this overwhelming feeling that everything inside of a Jaguar is made to ~look~ expensive and to pass an initial sniff test but that nothing was thought out very much.

In comparison, both BMWs and Audis are thoughtful. They might not be flashy, but everything seems to make sense, albeit in that idiosyncratic German way. Things feel sturdy, if not over-engineered. You can sit in a BMW or Audi and figure out what is going on reasonably quickly.

Worse yet, Jaguar hasn't figured out to handle the beltline or something, because both the XJ and F-Type windshield feels like a tank periscope. In the XJ's case, it felt literally dangerous to drive because I had to deal with additional blind spot.

I ended up going for an Audi A7 and love it to death.

The basic idea: most people on here aren't wealthy enough to afford cars that aren't either used or econoboxes, so the discussion invariably turns to cars the average poster can attain.

In any event:

The Jaguar F-Type is so damn pretty I love it to death. Too bad all Jaguars are utter trash. I've test driven a number of different higher-end Jags and have been uniformly disappointed every time.
