Dude who owns both reporting in. Austrian M-65 is made from a great material (apparently treated to be silent when it brushes together), but it's deceptively thin and baggy as all shit, especially in the arms.
The Flektarn parka is a lot more 'dramatic', with a sizeable hood, snap pockets, dangling drawstring cords at the waist and german flags on the shoulders, plus the length looks excellent on a tall and lean frame.
I'd say it's worth it to get both, the M-65 for more layered outfits and the Flektarn for simpler ones.

I love the weird shit Knoch finds.
Also, Soviet surplus is godly for lunar experimentation. Unconventional fabrics, utilitarian design, and cheaper than the space in the ancient Ukrainian warehouse its' sitting in.

The Levi's commuter trucker is actually pretty sweet. Doesn't immediately look or feel like denim, shitload of pockets, and the reflective triangles/venting help keep it technical.

Best route is generally to go milsurp and get them tailored, which is basically the Maharishi approach anyway. Leaves you with sturdy, fitted trousers and enough money left over that you could easily get some embroidering or additional detailing done to em.
