Do they like to fake models measurements like they fake actors height?

I noticied that top models claims to have 22-25 waist. I'm 5'9'' 12%BF with a small frame and 34 waist but I'm male, even if my ribcage is larger, theres no way they can achieve a 25 waist at >5'9''.

For a woman it's completely possible to have such a small waist. They generally don't fake model's measurements. Their hip measurements usually have to be under 33-34" to fit in couture clothing.

I don't understand if your body grows proportionally with height, if women have larger hips than men, how it is possible for them to achieve a much smaller waist.

My hips are 38 but at the appex you have muscles adding some inches. In the waist (at least I) don't have muscles adding inches.

um I'm pretty sure everyone has muscles around their midsection. Abs, obliques, spinal erecters, plus a bunch of others on the interior. You probably carry more water than models if you aren't watching your sodium intake and you probably have some degree of bloating if you eat a normal diet.

Faking models' measurements is counterproductive because they need to have the right measurements to fit the clothes properly. I suppose supermodels might fudge them a bit to seem even more perfect, but otherwise I don't think agencies would

The vast majority of men have different bone structures than woman as well as having differences in muscle density, and where fat is stored.
I've been modelling a lot lately
5'8, 24" waist norm, 25" high
I've been 23" before but I was sick and very underweight. Some girls can have a smaller size of a waist and not be terribly underweight, it really just depends on a lot of factors like muscle%, fat%, proportions, and how "long" their limbs and torsos are.
I have a bit of a stocky torso so under 23.5" isn't really viable for me.

My brother is about 5'11/6' and the smallest his waist was 28" and he was about 135lbs, but he's always had a very slim build and likely won't have a high muscle density unless he roided and worked at it for a long time.

Yes, the sexes differ physically for the most part+other factors+some of genetics

and usually, our ribcages are shorter or smaller, which means that there is more "free space" between the end of the ribcage and the start of the hips, and since the space is "empty" the waist can be smaller
