damn guys can there be just one thread in which people don't talk shit to each other for no good reason

anyways i've had my eyes on pic related for quite some time now but they're not easy to obtain in canada; they are sold out at the one place where i can find them and not really sure when they would be restocking, if at all

however i have a friend in the states who could probably easily get them. i was thinking maybe they could buy them for me and then send them over, but of course that will come with some extra expenses. does anyone have experience with a situation like this?

also the alternative is a slightly different colorway with a blue logo with a cleaner white. i could easily just buy this myself right now

what do you guys think?

A casual browse of most stores indicates you should find plenty of options. If you want something ultra-cheap, I'm sure Urban Outfitters has some you'd like. Both J.Crew and Banana Republic have some along those lines, and both have pretty good summer sales going on right now.

Sorry for being so vague, but there are just a metric ton of places you could go for this - I recommend just piddling around until you find something you like. I went shopping today and saw like 10+ in the matter of an hour.

I can only speak for UNIQLO's Japanese quality, but I'd say that the build quality is roughly the same, but J.Crew is typically cut a bit more fashionably. My experience with UNIQLO is that there really are no surprises in fit or cut whatsoever, for better or worse.

Then 511s or 514s will work, but don't rule out the shrink to fits. Just try stuff on. Rule of thumb used to be to get a dark wash, but lighter washes are more popular nowadays.

The fit should be a hair bigger than skin tight. If you sit down in them and they pull tightly against your legs, they are too tight.

Stocking is a pain and it only makes sense to target most customers. The calculus involved in making sure you have the "right" stock can get rather insane, or so I've been told.

And even if they did make them, most stores wouldn't stock them simply because it wouldn't make sense.

Nope. As a general matter, you should be VERY CAUTIOUS of cheap Japanese clothing. Japanese stores - even the good ones - can get rather chintzy when it comes to cheap clothing, as oftentimes image is prioritized over quality. Their shoes, for example, almost uniformly suck until you end up paying a premium for them. Fit is also going to be more of an issue than you might think, as I found a lot of articles of clothing were simply weirdly proportioned.

Harajuku is always a good place to wander around, but the above cautions remain. Anything good is going to be exorbitantly expensive; anything cheap is likely going to be trash. Sale racks are infrequent.

Muji and UNIQLO are great cheap basics stores that I highly recommend, though the latter store in Ginza gets crowded fast, so go early. Second floor is full of graphic tees, they're cute gifts but obviously not terribly /fa/. Ginza also has a lot of awesome department stores, but be prepared for sticker shock - you're gonna see some $200 pairs of basic Levis and stuff.

I always found Japan difficult to shop in because the clothing could get so crappy. Be prepared to wander a lot before you find something you like.

In my limited experience, the one in Ginza is gonna have more weird stuff, and in one instance I was able to pick up some of their experimental collaboration suiting nonsense for super cheap. Might as well go in.

For muji, I doubt it's worth it if you have ready access to it.

It is going to be HOT. Like, sweltering. I'd literally get on the train in an undershirt and suit pants because I'd end up soaked if I wore my full suit to work. Ditto for even a basic t-shirt, sometimes. All of those places - especially Kyoto - are going to fry you like an egg.

If you go to the top (or near the top) of Fuji, it'll probably get cold. Otherwise, it's gonna be hot, humid, and frankly pretty miserable. Protip: drink tons of Pocari Sweat, it's both delicious and hydrating.

My pleasure! As for must-visits:

- Go to at least one temple near Kyoto. Ideally multiple. Totally worth it.
- Akihabara in Tokyo is worth going to, but be warned, it's basically a porn heaven now.
- Harajuku is definitely worth seeing, even if you don't shop there.
- In the Kyoto area, seek out an Okonomiyaki vendor - it's basically a meat pancake. The southern style uses noodles and is delicious.

I took a break from /fa/ for about a year and I've been back for the past month or so, have the WAYWTs always been this bad? I mean I don't remember them being stellar in the past but they are just awful now.
There are no more than ten people who consistently post even halfway decent fits and the threads are full of buttmad teenagers shitposting with trips.

sunglasses will probably work better after you're thinner, but your face is still generally rectangular rather than the tapered oblong they look best on, but it's hard to know now. Regardless, I'd have gone with something that looks fine on a wider face so you could use it now and later, like a less harshly edged pair
also, just in general, the gold trim on anything ends up looking tacky and nouveau riche as hell (except I'm guessing you don't even have the actual money), and it's hard to pair properly with things too
that's about all I'm able to constructively give you

How often do you guys buy from 'risky' brands? As in, you're at a thrift store or something and you see a nice shirt but you haven't heard anything about the brand before. What's a good, lightweight hoodie that will help me cover my gyno?

I'm skinny so it shows rather easily in most things I wear. I also tape my nips but it stills shows a bit in a t shirt.
