damn guys can there be just one thread in which people don't talk shit to each other for no good reason

anyways i've had my eyes on pic related for quite some time now but they're not easy to obtain in canada; they are sold out at the one place where i can find them and not really sure when they would be restocking, if at all

however i have a friend in the states who could probably easily get them. i was thinking maybe they could buy them for me and then send them over, but of course that will come with some extra expenses. does anyone have experience with a situation like this?

also the alternative is a slightly different colorway with a blue logo with a cleaner white. i could easily just buy this myself right now

what do you guys think?

A casual browse of most stores indicates you should find plenty of options. If you want something ultra-cheap, I'm sure Urban Outfitters has some you'd like. Both J.Crew and Banana Republic have some along those lines, and both have pretty good summer sales going on right now.

Sorry for being so vague, but there are just a metric ton of places you could go for this - I recommend just piddling around until you find something you like. I went shopping today and saw like 10+ in the matter of an hour.

One thing you could do, if you're looking for something on the cheap-but-not-awful end, is to raid some of the sale sections of Nordstrom/Macys/etc. You'd be surprised how much current-season stuff ends up there and, while you won't be finding high-end fashion stuff there, you'll certainly find simpler styles that just didn't sell.

American Apparel may also be somewhere to check, depending on your tolerance for the brand.

UNIQLO should be in your head right next to the Gap and H&M in terms of quality. I can only speak for UNIQLO's Japanese quality, but I'd say that the build quality is roughly the same, but J.Crew is typically cut a bit more fashionably. My experience with UNIQLO is that there really are no surprises in fit or cut whatsoever, for better or worse.

it should be noted that he is most likely talking about j.crew outlets

actual j.crew stores carry items from their own brand as well as many other respectable brands

like nothing uniqlo offers competes with alfred sargent for j.crew boots........

and j.crew's bags (sometimes filson or filson collabs) are much nicer than the muji tier shit uniqlo has

it's a different aesthetic for two vastly different price points and markets

if you're a teen you would much be better served shopping at uniqlo in the lower priced items

your wallet and aesthetic will thank you

a 19 year old kid in $325 selvedge denim, $500 boots and a $200 denim jacket just comes across as dad core

a teenager in chucks with a CDG play heart on the side, skinny black jeans from uniqlo's $39.99 cheap shit section and a baggy white pocket tee from forever 21 that looks low quality with a david beckham basics like $9.95 MA-1 will look more at home

>why dont they make levis that have L > 32 and W < 30 ?
Stocking is a pain and it only makes sense to target most customers. The calculus involved in making sure you have the "right" stock can get rather insane, or so I've been told.

And even if they did make them, most stores wouldn't stock them simply because it wouldn't make sense.

You're unfortunately a bit of an odd bird size-wise, but that should be something you're proud of.

Yes, numerous times.

>Im going there this summer for 10 days and wont be carrying much clothes, so i am looking for cheap but somewhat /fa/ place to shop.
Sounds like a plan, but make sure you actually have space in your bag.

>I saw second hand clothes shop called Mode Off. Anyone here shopped there before?
Nope. As a general matter, you should be VERY CAUTIOUS of cheap Japanese clothing. Japanese stores - even the good ones - can get rather chintzy when it comes to cheap clothing, as oftentimes image is prioritized over quality. Their shoes, for example, almost uniformly suck until you end up paying a premium for them. Fit is also going to be more of an issue than you might think, as I found a lot of articles of clothing were simply weirdly proportioned.

Harajuku is always a good place to wander around, but the above cautions remain. Anything good is going to be exorbitantly expensive; anything cheap is likely going to be trash. Sale racks are infrequent.

Muji and UNIQLO are great cheap basics stores that I highly recommend, though the latter store in Ginza gets crowded fast, so go early. Second floor is full of graphic tees, they're cute gifts but obviously not terribly /fa/. Ginza also has a lot of awesome department stores, but be prepared for sticker shock - you're gonna see some $200 pairs of basic Levis and stuff.

I always found Japan difficult to shop in because the clothing could get so crappy. Be prepared to wander a lot before you find something you like.

In my limited experience, the one in Ginza is gonna have more weird stuff, and in one instance I was able to pick up some of their experimental collaboration suiting nonsense for super cheap. Might as well go in.

For muji, I doubt it's worth it if you have ready access to it.

>Also ill be going on early june, should i just carry summer clothes or do i also have to prepare coats/jackets? Going to Tokyo, Fuji, Takayama and Kyoto in that order
It is going to be HOT. Like, sweltering. I'd literally get on the train in an undershirt and suit pants because I'd end up soaked if I wore my full suit to work. Ditto for even a basic t-shirt, sometimes. All of those places - especially Kyoto - are going to fry you like an egg.

If you go to the top (or near the top) of Fuji, it'll probably get cold. Otherwise, it's gonna be hot, humid, and frankly pretty miserable. Protip: drink tons of Pocari Sweat, it's both delicious and hydrating.

My pleasure! As for must-visits:

- Go to at least one temple near Kyoto. Ideally multiple. Totally worth it.
- Akihabara in Tokyo is worth going to, but be warned, it's basically a porn heaven now.
- Harajuku is definitely worth seeing, even if you don't shop there.
- In the Kyoto area, seek out an Okonomiyaki vendor - it's basically a meat pancake. The southern style uses noodles and is delicious.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck!

The answer to this question used to be Chelsea boots or something like the Red Wing boots, but those may be a bit too industrial for your tastes.

sunglasses will probably work better after you're thinner, but your face is still generally rectangular rather than the tapered oblong they look best on, but it's hard to know now. Regardless, I'd have gone with something that looks fine on a wider face so you could use it now and later, like a less harshly edged pair
also, just in general, the gold trim on anything ends up looking tacky and nouveau riche as hell (except I'm guessing you don't even have the actual money), and it's hard to pair properly with things too

That lines definately been crossed.
Those lines went up their noses.
I'm tired of this sophisticated bullshit.
It's preying on base instincts to sell something that just does not work.
It's preying on way undersexed ppl who just want to look decent.
And it's coming from a sinful place.

How often do you guys buy from 'risky' brands? As in, you're at a thrift store or something and you see a nice shirt but you haven't heard anything about the brand before. I had this experience earlier and I was worried it would be shit quality or some pleb mallcore shit that would have 15 year old girls flocking over me.

Fuccboi here. Came to /fa/ a two months ago looking for an opinion on these shorts. I got told to lose some weight and come back, so I have. Opinion on the shorts? Is the cuff too large? Are these types of floral patterns even in fashion still?

the silhouette on those look good imo, they're just a little lke over done idk. iirc i've seen your fits before and liked them, you had some kind of desert/military look one a while ago, right?

anyways, KVA Multilace in white would fit well and maintain that chunky look you're going for, but they're pricey so save up and check grailed

What's a good, lightweight hoodie that will help me cover my gyno?

I'm skinny so it shows rather easily in most things I wear. I also tape my nips but it stills shows a bit in a t shirt.

Something long and drapey preferred. Wanted pic related but the branding's kind of obnoxious and I'm not sure about the price.

>> No.9874568

>>9874507
Personally, I think your best bet is just going to stores and trying on different brands and seeing which smooths out your chest the best. You don't have to buy a crazy expensive hoodie, just get one that doesn't look like shit on you.

You can always buy shorter laces, not hard to find online or in big box stores. Cutting them is not recommended.
